"this guy really needs to find Islam"
thalamtnafsee:
I don’t think I’ve seen anything more crude in my life than hearing people of the Islamic faith say something so absurd and preposterous. Oh, they say, I hope she finds Islam. Oh dear, she is such a good speaker, I hope she converts. I can’t tolerate such dehumanizing thoughts, really.
How about you convert your culture, family, friends, ideas, thoughts, perceptions,...

Article in French - translation here (uses Google so it’ll work hopefully)
So I posted earlier that I spoke to some of the people from the Islamic Society at my uni. They had an exhibition for Islamic Awareness Week and as I passed their marquee, I thought i’d go in to support them and have a look around.
People kept coming up to me and asking me if I had any questions. I did, but I felt it unfair to take their time up when they could be speaking to the whole load...

The receptionist at the Doctor's surgery (vent-...
Had to stop myself from shouting at the receptionist at the doctor’s surgery. I know that she just has to follow orders, but what I needed would literally take a doctor two minutes to do. The icing on the cake was that she basically said that i was lying. I told her that she gets infections all the time and the doctor has stopped needing to see her every time because there’s nothing...

They were nice enough but I don’t think I’ll be going to one of their meetings.
I’ll post more later.

Thank you :-) I better rush off. Already slept through one lecture. Good night or morning or whatever! Have a great day!

My dream
Sister: The whole bloody family knows you’re gay. No one cares.
Me: Really?
Sister: Well, duh.
Mum: There’s a couple of dead bodies in the living room. I didn’t kill them but I stored them in the attic for a while. We need to get rid of them now.
Me: o_o
Anybody for a bit of dream interpretation?

They’re picking me up in a bit. We’ll probably go for lunch or back to their place. They want a new computer so we might pop down the Apple Store because they’re not particularly au fait with technology so they want me to help them.

It isn’t and life is unfair. I guess you have to weigh up the options. In my case concealing my identity was having ramifications on my mental health. Living a lie wasn’t a possibility for me.

It’s a horrible having to make a choice like that here in the UK, let alone in other societies where LGBTQ rights are so much further behind.
Telling someone to be proud of who they are, and if their family hates them so much for being gay they don’t deserve to part of their life just isn’t a useful thing to tell someone. Moreso in certain communities where family honour play...

I think it being in Ireland has a lot to do with it I guess?
I don’t think we’re any better here to be honest, in terms of society as a whole….sad thing is it’ll probably be a very successful ad in terms of brand exposure and a lot of people will find it funny. :(

I don’t get it
It’s a song in Tamil (mixed with bits of English). It’s one of those songs that a lot of people went, “what IS this?” but I rather enjoy it actually. :)
